Letter from the CEO: Spring 2026
Over these past few months, more than ever, there has been a labor of love at The WellHouse which is a testament to the virtues of diligence, integrity, and commitment! This reflection of God’s character is a means through which the workers, including staff and volunteers, fulfill a divine calling through an assignment at The WellHouse. Even as incidents happen which bring us all to our knees and at times cause us to throw up our hands in frustration when our best efforts are thwarted, we are still blessed to see amazing healing and transformation taking place every day in the women and girls we serve.
As we end the first quarter of 2026 and enter the next, we continue to place the tremendous needs of survivors of sex trafficking as priority. Even after 15 years of service in this field, it is amazing what and how we are still learning!
Recent data to be released in our Annual Report shows an expansion of growth, nights of safety, and captured opportunities unlike any other year! All departments have expanded their capacity to serve, and we are currently experiencing growing pains, so to speak, with our youth program. We are excited at the opportunities and the possibilities that are in front of us to serve more effectively!
As this is being written, ShopWell is continuing the renovations on the storefront in Springville, AL with an anticipated opening date coming this summer. This is a long-held dream and vision that will provide employment training and opportunities for our residents in an atmosphere of structure and safety as they move toward their final exit and sustainable employment.
Lastly, we are diligently working alongside The Institute for Survivor Care as we prepare for the next National Christian Conference on Sexual Exploitation to be held October 18-21, 2026 at CrossPoint Church in Trussville, AL! Stay tuned for more details as a fantastic agenda is being planned that will truly provide an atmosphere of growth in every area for those working in this field!
