Difference Makers: Spring 2026

2026 is flying by! We have already welcomed more than 10 new residents into our program, celebrated the graduation of 5, and hosted our spectacular Grace Gala. None of this would be possible without the incredible support of our volunteers. We are continually amazed by their commitment to us—giving their time, talents, and hearts to ensure every woman and child at The WellHouse feels loved. We recognize that the strength and success of The WellHouse are deeply rooted in our volunteers’ willingness to come alongside this mission.

While we’ve taken on many projects over the past few months, Elizabeth’s Closet has undoubtedly been the most demanding. Elizabeth’s Closet serves as an on‑campus clothing boutique, created to provide our residents with a dignified wardrobe during their time with us. It’s one of the very first stops new residents make upon arrival. Many survivors come to us with only the clothes on their backs, so Elizabeth’s Closet offers them the empowering opportunity to ‘shop’ for items that help them feel comfortable and confident. We are truly thankful for the generous clothing donations we receive, but the number of items that need to be sorted can quickly become overwhelming. That’s why I am especially thankful for the volunteers who have come to campus specifically to help with this effort. Hours upon hours have been invested into making Elizabeth’s Closet a special experience for our women, and we are so close to having it where we want it.

I want to extend a special thank‑you to a volunteer who continually amazes me—Gwen Hill. Not only has Gwen dedicated more than 50 hours this year alone to working in Elizabeth’s Closet, but she also leads a weekly walking group and a weekly study hall for our ladies. Beyond that, she regularly steps in wherever she’s needed, from overnight house‑sitting to covering the front desk. Gwen’s heart is as pure as they come, and we are deeply grateful that our residents have her as a living example of someone who chooses to walk out a godly life with grace and humility.

As we continue into spring and look forward to the hope of Easter, we invite you to join us in praying for The WellHouse—especially for the residents in our care. We trust that the Lord will draw many of them closer to His Son in this season, and your prayers mean more than you know. Thank you for standing with us in faith and believing for transformation, healing, and new life.
