What is your job title and what year did you come on staff at The WellHouse?
I serve as a Case Manager for WellHouse Women, and I came on staff in 2025.
What is your favorite part about your job?
In most case management positions, you only have an opportunity to connect with a client/resident when a person is leaving a program. But at the The WellHouse, you get the opportunity to be a part of the ladies’ entire journey from the beginning until the completion of the program.
Tell us about your educational and professional experience that equips you to be successful in this field.
I’ve worked as a counselor for over 25 years with a focus on mental health, substance abuse, and the criminal justice system. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Social Work from UAB, and Master of Science degree in Psychology. I am currently finishing up my dissertation to complete a PHD in I/O Psychology at Adler University.
Tell us about your journey coming into the anti-trafficking field and with The WellHouse.
My introduction to the anti-trafficking field started when I worked at two prior organizations where the focus was on substance abuse and crisis intervention. This was my first introduction to The WellHouse mission, and I was impressed with the multi-facet programs offered there. So, when an opportunity presented itself, I applied for a position and the rest is history!
