Development Update: Summer 2026
One of the greatest joys of stepping into my role as Development Director at The WellHouse has been witnessing the incredible generosity of people locally, across our state and beyond.
I have the privilege of meeting individuals, churches, businesses, civic groups, schools, and organizations who are choosing to use their time, talents, influence, and resources to invest in the lives of the women we serve. It has been both humbling and inspiring to watch people from all walks of life link arms with one another, rally their communities, and creatively find ways to make a difference in the lives of human trafficking survivors.
Over the last month alone, I have seen the culmination of dozens of groups host bake sales, bingo nights, fundraising events, and awareness campaigns spearheaded by the Fraternal Order of Eagles. An artist donated her talent by creating one-of-a-kind cowboy hats that were auctioned to benefit our mission. Churches and community groups gathered friends and neighbors to raise support, including making birthday boxes for all of our residents. The women of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority thoughtfully assembled summer baskets filled with sunscreen, beach blankets, water bottles, and other essentials for every resident. A preschool class hosted a bake sale with the sole purpose of helping survivors here at The WellHouse. The Eastern Women Committee of Fifty organized both a golf tournament and a concert to support our mission.
And those are only a handful of examples from the past few weeks.
I am truly blown away by the heart of His people.
What strikes me the most is that each act of generosity looks different. Some people give through creativity. Some give through leadership. Some give through service. Others give through financial support. Yet all of them are united by a shared desire to love others well and create opportunities for healing, restoration, and hope.
The impact of these efforts reaches far beyond a single event, donation, or gift. Every dollar raised, every basket assembled, every ticket sold, and every hour volunteered helps create real change in the lives of women both now and for generations to come.
What a gift each of you are!
You are investing in a legacy that is having a direct impact on women and their families today while helping shape brighter futures tomorrow. We may never fully know on this side of Heaven the ripple effect created by your generosity, your faithfulness, and your willingness to say "yes" when God places a need before you.
Thank you for believing in this mission. Thank you for walking alongside us. Thank you for using your gifts to serve others.
I am grateful beyond words. We are grateful beyond words.
