Stewardship and Structure: The Foundation of Hope
As Director of Facilities at The WellHouse, my role is one of diligent stewardship. I oversee the physical integrity of our campus which includes managing maintenance, repairs, and essential infrastructure, from HVAC systems to ensuring compliance with safety standards. It’s a job that demands practical expertise and constant readiness. My focus is simple: to ensure that the environment where transformation happens is reliable, safe, and fully operational every single day.
It's easy to see these duties as strictly technical, but the true impact of maintaining our physical structure runs much deeper. When our facilities are secure and well-cared for, it reflects stability and respect for the people we serve. This consistency provides a critical foundation for the staff to concentrate on their clinical and pastoral duties, and for the women in our program to find stability. A functional facility removes barriers, minimizes distractions, and affirms that this ministry is a place of order and safety—allowing the vital work of healing and rebuilding lives to take priority.
This mission of rebuilding is something I see echoed daily on our facilities team. I have the privilege of working with graduates of The WellHouse program who now serve alongside us. Their transition into productive team members, contributing meaningfully to the care of this campus, is a powerful testament to the program's success. They are not just “fixing things”, but actively demonstrating their renewed purpose and responsibility. It serves as a constant, tangible reminder that our work is ultimately about empowering individuals to rebuild their own lives with dignity and capability.
