Program Generalist

My name is Jennifer Holderfield and I have been working at The WellHouse since October of 2018. I was hired initially as Home Coordinator for the Women’s Program. I’ve had the pleasure to work both homes, The Immediate Shelter and Next Steps to Freedom. What an amazing journey that has been! Every woman who has entered our program over the last five years holds a special place in my heart.

Just this year, I have transitioned into a new role. I am now serving as Case Manager for Next Steps to Independence. This program is a transitional house where graduates can choose to move into our apartments and learn more about living on their own after leaving our campus.

Along with my new role as Case Manager, I also work at our Stabilization Center. This is where a resident comes when she first enters our program. This is where her journey to freedom begins. This is a time to build a rapport with her. A place for her to feel safe while she gets settled. A place where, maybe for the first time ever, she feels seen, heard and loved.

A graduate in our NSI program said to me not long ago, “Ms. Jenn your positions are like the book ends to The WellHouse. You see and welcome us when we first get here and you’re at the end to walk us through our next steps.” That statement has stuck in my mind as a reminder of what an AWESOME God we serve. What a privilege He has given each one of us who work and serve here. The privilege and honor to watch Him restore lives, as only He can do. This restoration looks different for every resident.

What never looks different and never changes is God’s Sovereign Will. What God, by His limitless Power and Knowledge, has eternally ordered and determined to happen from beginning to end, in all of His creation, ALL for HIS GLORY.

John 10:3-4 says, “The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.”

Lead on Good Shepherd, Lead on ….
