Difference Makers - Fall 2022

By Haley Hawkins

Volunteer Coordinator

It has been just over a month since I started as Volunteer Coordinator, and it has been a tremendous blessing. I came into this role after serving as an intern in the Summer of 2021, so I am familiar with the call to serve alongside The WellHouse ministry. But, I could have never anticipated how much joy I would find helping others step into this mission. The WellHouse is blessed to have hundreds of willing hands and hearts to put to work, and it is my utmost honor to facilitate that process. Lots of exciting activities have gone on this last quarter, and I would like to share some of them with you all here, in hopes that you are as encouraged as I have been by the selfless service of others.

The WellHouse residents have enjoyed cooking classes provided by the lovely ladies of Les Dames d’Escoffier, who also facilitated an incredible donation of kitchen wares from Auburn University’s culinary department. Additionally, September has been the month of pampering, as our residents have enjoyed haircuts compliments of Church of the Highlands and Salon 43 One as well as makeovers provided by Village Dermatology.

Looking ahead, we will be welcoming a gardening program taught by a volunteer, as well as personal finance coaching and regular worship nights. In the future, we hope to introduce opportunities for group fitness, provided by a willing and capable volunteer.

If you are interested in serving alongside this incredible ministry, please fill out the application found here.

I know you will be blessed, and The WellHouse will be too.
