What is your job title and what year did you come on staff at The WellHouse?
I serve as a WellHouse Child Intern. I came on staff in June 2020 and worked until July of 2021, and returned in March of 2022.
What is your favorite part about your job?
My favorite part of my job is being able to pray with the ladies and watch their lives be changed throughout the program. I love watching the transformation. I enjoy any time I get to worship with them, especially during special events in the Chapel. I also have some co-workers who have become amazing friends that I never would have met without working here.
Tell us about your educational and professional experience that equips you to be successful in this field.
I am a physical therapist assistant and I am currently in school for Social Work.
Please share your favorite memory from your time working at The WellHouse.
I think my all-time favorite memory will always be when a woman excitedly came to tell me "Guess what Miss JoJo, I got saved!" and just seeing the glow and happiness on her face. I also love seeing our residents put in the hard work and graduate the program.
How has working at The WellHouse impacted your life?
Working at The WellHouse has helped my faith grow. There are constant questions from our residents on the Bible, and many times it requires me to dig a little deeper to answer them, and that has helped my faith grow. It has deepened my passion for the Lord and worshipping Him. I went back home for a season to Maryland, and God told me I needed to return because this is my passion. Working at The Well House inspired me to return to school and study Social Work.
